Bernard (Ben) Gold, MD
Bernard L. (Ben) Gold, M.D., was born in Dallas, Texas. He received a B.A.
from the University of Montana, graduating with honors in Botany. He was
awarded his medical degree by Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Following an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph Mercy
Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1984 he completed a Fellowship in Allergy
and Clinical Immunology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, at which time
he entered private practice. In 1990 Dr. Gold joined the practice of Drs. Robert

transferred to Dr. Gold the practice that he had built with the late Dr. Dell
Henry. Dr. Gold assumed total ownership of the Lovell/Preuss practice in 1991
and has treated patients in solo since 1996. Begun by Dr. Lovell in 1959 at the
old St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, it is the oldest ongoing private
allergy and asthma practice in the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area.
In addition, Dr. Gold is a part-time physician at the University of Michigan's
Student Health Service, where he serves as Director of the Allergy Clinic and where
he also has a voluntary academic appointment as Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor
in the Division of Allergy in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of
